Thomas M. Thai is the senior instructor at Miramar Martial Arts Academy.
Master Thai began training in 1989 at San Diego State University during his sophomore year, under the guidence of Master Lloyd Francis. After two weeks of classes at SDSU he felt he needed more training, and enrolled at Francis Karate.
Upon graduation from SDSU, Master Thai also received 1st degree black belt. In 1994 he was given the opportunity to teach at one of Master Francis's studios. Within two years, took over ownership of Miramar Martial Arts Academy, pursuing martial arts as a full-time career. He became a certified instructor in 1995, and in 2003 achieved the rank of Sa Bom (master instructor).
Master Thai has traveled to several countries, training with Grandmaster HC Hwang. He was elected as a member of the Soo Bahk Do U.S. National team, competing in Belgium in 2001.
Master Thai considers among his most notable accomplishments helping over 40 people achieve the rank of black belt.

Mr. Timothy Bennett - Sam Dan Tim Bennett began training with then Kyo Sa Nim Thai shortly after the do jang opened in 1996. He earned his Cho Dan in 2001, Ee Dan in 2003 and Sam Dan in 2007. Mr. Bennett was 40 years old when he began his study of Soo Bahk Do. His Dan bon is 40068. |

Mr. Robert Maderazo is an instructor at Miramar Martial Arts Academy. Mr. Maderazo began his training in Soo Bahk Do in 2001 under the guidance of Thomas M. Thai, SBN. He was promoted to Cho Dan in 2006, E Dan in 2008 and Sam Dan in 2011. Mr. Maderazo received his Jo Kyo certification in 2006 and his Kyo Sa in 2008. His Dan Bon is 44423. |

Mr. Darno DeJohnette Sr. is an assistant instructor at Miramar Martial Arts Academy. Mr. DeJohnette Sr. began his training in Soo Bahk Do in 1999 under the guidance of Thomas M. Thai, SBN. He was promoted to Cho Dan in 2006, E Dan in 2008 and Sam Dan in 2011. Mr. DeJohnette Sr. received his Jo Kyo certification in 2009. In 2010 he opened DeJohnette Martial Arts Academy in Vista, CA. His Dan Bon is 44400. |
